Overview
Patriots,
This was one of the most packed weeks of the year. A sitting congresswoman’s home was searched, a press secretary lasted five days, the border hit a historic record, and Trump set aside a Russia sanctions law his own party wrote. The midterms are 16 days away, and Texas early voting starts tomorrow.
Here’s everything that mattered, both the wins and the warning signs.
JUSTICE
THE OMAR PROBE TURNS TO HER CITIZENSHIP

On Monday, Oct. 12, Homeland Security Investigations searched Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington home under a judge-signed warrant. Agents took her phone, and a grand jury has issued more than a dozen subpoenas, including to relatives.
By Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported the goal: building a case to revoke her citizenship and eventually deport her. It reportedly comes down to one question. Was Omar 17 or 18 in 2000, when she got citizenship through her father? Only a minor qualified.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro says “several investigations” are open, including one into Omar’s financial disclosures.
The reality check: No charges, no lawsuit, and Omar denies everything. To take citizenship, DOJ must prove in court with “clear, unequivocal, and convincing” evidence that someone lied on purpose. Somali records from that era are scarce, and Snopes found a yearbook supporting her age. If the evidence is there, a judge will see it. If not, that will come out too.
