Overview
Patriots,
Six stories. No spin, just what happened. This week a Democrat fundraising giant's own lawyer got summoned to Capitol Hill. A Kansas farm town turned into a national immigration flashpoint. The DOJ sued a state over your gun rights. And Brazil's president accused Washington of messing with his election, two days before voters went to the polls. Here's the wire.
ACCOUNTABILITY
ActBlue's Own People Pled the Fifth. Ten Times. Now a State AG Is Moving In.

House Republicans summoned ActBlue's outside lawyer, Ronald Machen, to a closed-door interview before October 9. They want him to explain why his own "independent" review of the platform's fraud safeguards doesn't match ActBlue's internal records. It gets worse for the Democrat fundraising giant: ten separate ActBlue witnesses have now invoked the Fifth Amendment rather than answer questions under oath. This week, Missouri's attorney general launched a fresh state investigation, ordering ActBlue to hand over documents by October 8 on whether fraudulent donations landed with Missouri candidates. ActBlue denies any wrongdoing and calls it all political. Why it matters: nearly 23,000 Democratic campaigns run their money through this platform. If the fraud allegations hold up, that's not a glitch. That's the plumbing of an entire party's fundraising machine.
